Oikos Traitor

GOOD MORNING! I hope everyone is having a great day =).

After work ayer I met up with my mom, sis, and niece and we headed to PF Chang's for Din Din. I seriously love this place! I love the ambiance esp the dim lightin and the food is always incredible.

I love these Horses!

I wanted to steal this tea kettle lol. It must have weighed like 5 lbs!

I started off with 2 of Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps

And for the Main Course I ordered ORANGE PEEL CHICKEN Tossed with chili peppers and fresh orange peel for a spicy, citrus combination

This dish was amazing! I loved the combination of the Spicy and slight taste of sweetness. My mom did not like her dish that much so I ended up giving her some of mine and eating hers too which was GINGER CHICKEN WITH BROCCOLI Served Cantonese-style on a bed of fresh steamed broccoli. I loved this dish too; it was refreshing. I ended up eating alllllll the veggies on both dishes =) and some brown rice too for good measure ha

After dinner we did some shopping which was great! I brought 3 sweaters and a Pair of Jeans from Old Navy, a Scarf from the Gap, A Flannel Plaid Shirt from Forever 21, and a lip liner from MAC. Am I the only one that is freaking happy that Flannel Plaid Shirts are making a come back! Oh and don't laugh but I also got a pair of stir-up tights from Old Navy! I am bringing the 80's back lol...now you may be asking yourself "why the hell did she buy stir-ups" WELL I love to wear UGGS with leggings but they always ride up and my calves get cold in the winter lol. Problem Solved!

We had a great time! The only downside was that I got home after 10! (GASP)

This morning I slept in until around 6:45ish. I woke up and had 1/2 a Banana and then did Jillian's Kickboxing DVD and burned 243 Calories in 25 minutes. After my workout I had 1 Scoop of LMM

This morning I ran to the supermarket and they were still out of Oikos Honey Yogurt and Chobani was on sale again for $1.25. I was hesitant to get it the last time but over the weekend I was reading Women's Health Magazine and Chobani Pomegranate Yogurt received good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I felt like an idiot...I was digging around looking for the honey in the bottom since I am an "Oikos Girl" lol but oops the honey is already mixed in. It actually tasted pretty good and I liked how it blended with the PB and Banana. I might pick these up again (ssshhhh don't tell Oikos)

It also has great stats! 150 Calories 0 Fat and 16g of PROTEIN!

WARNING GROSS STORY!
Have you guys ever had a nightmare that you just can't shake. My eyes have been hurting for the past two day, to the point that I am wearing my glasses instead of my contacts, today. Around 5 am I woke up to see how my eye looked and it seemed okay for the most part so I went back to sleep. I guess my eye pain leaked into my subliminal because I had the worse dream! I dreamt that I woke up to check my eye and when I looked in the mirror it was a foam of red covering it and every time I would blink the red foam would slide down my face and be replaced by another chunk (just typing this is making me sick to my stomach). It looked like sliced strawberries! I woke up so freaking scared and ran to the mirror but all was well lol. I am trying to Google what might be wrong with it, I am torn between Dry Eye or Allergies. It feels like something is stuck inside but every time I check, I don't see anything =( It could also be a Stye in the inside of my eyelid which might make sense because I used an old eye liner the day before yesterday...hmmmmmm

If you are still reading this, Thanks!

Have a Great Day!!

Namaste...

  1. Oh gosh, I hope your eye gets better soon! You must've just been dreaming how it feels to you even if it doesn't look that bad ;-)

You gotta love all that protein in Greek yogurt huh? I've been an Oikos traitor too -- I've been buying Fage recently because the big container is cheaper. I don't think I've ever had honey Chobani! They must have some more new flavors :)

  2. Does Fage have honey??? I love my Oikos but seriously it is so much $$$$$. One little container is about $2.40 (((GASP))))

That dream was HORRIBLE! I was so scared when I woke up this morning

  3. Hey Mari,

I happen to come across your post about being an "Oikos Traitor" (haha) and I just wanted to remind you about why Oikos can be more expensive than other brands of Greek yogurt.

First, all of our ingredients are always all natural, but more importantly they are ORGANIC. This means we greatly reduce the impact of pesticides and chemicals on our environment and water bodies. Artificial ingredients or hormones are never in our products. On top of taking 3 times the amount of milk to make (because of our authentic straining process) all of the farmers that supply us with milk are gaurenteed a fair, living wage.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and remind you about what makes Oikos unique.

    Have a wonderful day!

  4. Kristina,

You know I LOVE Oikos =) and I tried to resist the urge to get Chobani but they have not had Oikos Honey for over 1 week and I was having Oikos Withdrawals; I needed a "fix" lol. Honestly I was NOT going to buy Chobani until I saw the review in Women's Health Magazine and decided to give it a try since they have been on sale for about 2 weeks. But you know once Oikos is restocked, I will find my way back home lol.

And BTW I am always promoting Oikos when I am there; Oikos "green bag" is my FAVE!

  5. I'm glad your contacts are out. That will help whatever is going on in there.

  6. Yes Mari, Fage has honey! It's neat because it comes in its own little "pocket" of the container.

But after what Kristina wrote, I feel bad even telling you that, haha. OIKOS STILL ROCKS! :)

  8. I am officially addicted to greek yogurt!! And I love Oikos. I even use the plain on chicken! Replacing Sour Cream.

Sadly, where I live, it is hard to find any, I have to walk to Stop & Shop. I am craving some too!

But yes, it is way too expensive!

Sorry about your dream, I have been having some weird ones myself lately.

Also, cute stuff you got there. I need to get some new clothes too darn it!

Hope you're able to find it at your store soon!

    Best,
