Converting Car Wash?????

Hey everyone!!!!!!!!!!! I hope ya'll are having a great weekend =). I had a pretty nutty all started on Friday night when my phone went nuts on me and the dial pad stopped working which really worried me since I have to use my cell to blog on the weekends. I ended up calling Sprint from the Gym on Saturday and they helped me fix it but I wanted to run to a Sprint Repair Location so that they could run a diagnostic just to make sure. I ended up spending around 2 hours just to find out that it was okay.

On my way home, I passed a Free Car Wash a few blocks from my house which I assumed was perhaps a Sports Team or School doing a fundraiser but hmmm not so much. It ended up being a Mormon Church. The whole time they were washing my car, I had a girl who looked just like Kelly Clarkson; preaching to me. I have nothing against organized religion but I think that was pretty sneaky. I tried my best to be very polite but the whole time she was talking, all I could think about was was already 3 and I was STARVING. I ended up walking out of there with a washed car, a Holy Bible (which I wanted), The Book of Mormon, and Brochures. She asked for my phone number and I didn't want to be rude so I gave it to her and then she asked for me to come to Mass but that was when I had to put my foot down "Sorry my only day off is Sunday which is when I find my spirituality through Yoga". It WAS nice to see young people do some good but honestly it felt like a "cult" to me. I am not trying to offend anyone but it just felt awkward... maybe I was just really hungry! Lol

Eats and Workouts
Ayer before heading to the gym I did Less is More Cardio on Exercise TV and burned 303 Calories. For Breakfast I made a Green Monster with Spinach, Oatmeal, 1/2 a Frozen Banana, Chocolate LMM, and PB.

When I finally got home, I was in no mood to cook so I just had bowls of FrankenBerry with FF Milk. I grazed for most of the day on Cereal, Lil Drumsticks, and Honey Wheat Pretzels. I didn't even make a real dinner lol.

This morning it was pouring so I just stayed home and made a yummy bowl of Oats with PB and a Banana with my usual Coffee. After my food digested, I did Power Pilates and Yoga Sculpt on Exercise TV and burned 282 Calories in 55 minutes.

After my workout I made the yummiest bowl of Pasta! First I sauteed Onions and Mushrooms in my skillet while the Pasta cooked. When everything was done cooking, I tossed it all together in a Pot over medium heat and threw in some PB, Sesame Teriyaki Sauce, and Crushed Red Peppers. OMG this tasted sooooo amazing. I got the recipe from the October Issue of Women's Health but I made some tweaks.

I was planning to stay home but the rain let up and I had to run some errands which included picking up some Feta Cheese that my dad got me at BJ's and some Donuts that his mother-in-law brought me ( I already had one...three more to go lol)

Right now I am relaxing, watching Charmed and reading some magazines while I think about what I am going to make for din din lol

Have a great evening! And see you maƱana... I am off again =)

  1. I know it takes a lot of bravery to talk to strangers about God. Some of the youth from our church have done car washes before ;-) But I know what you mean. Some people can come on a little too strong. I'm glad you at least got a Bible out of it :)

  2. I hope I didn't offend just felt strange to me. Lliving in NY, you come across a lot of people pushing their religion on you to the point that my mom had to put a sticker on her door stating that she was Catholic and wanted to remain that way.

Like I said, it was nice to see young people do something positive and like you said...they must be really brave to talk to strangers about God. It is something to admire =)

And yup I am loving my Bible...

  3. haha, I'm baptist but one of my best friends is Mormon. She gave me permission to run away if I wanted. I've been trapped after trying to be nice and listen. I couldn't get them to leave my dorm either. That is very sneaky but clever way. I had a Witness corner before when I worked at the front desk of an office. lol I gotta call my friend Jess now about this car wash. lmao

  4. Thanks for the compliments!!

I agree about seeing young people doing something positive. A lot of times in our neighborhood I see young Jehovah's Witnesses walking door to door. I commend them on their faith to have the confidence to do it. But I also understand that living in NY can be exhausting at times!

  5. No offense taken. To tell you the truth, I don't like it when Christians start preaching like that. It just doesn't work, and it gives off the wrong impression of us. I believe that as Christians, we should be less talk and more action. We should be a good example and ATTRACT people to us, not seek people out and force them to listen to us preach.

Anyway. Glad you got a bible! :D If you come up with any questions, please let me know!

  6. Yay PB and pasta sauce! Looks delicious. You are my kind of girl :D.

I can imagine how awkward the car washing thing was. Kind of like when those evangelists try to preach to you on the subway and you are stuck in a car with them saying get me out of here! I feel like there is a time and a place to try to convert people and getting in someone's face is never the way to do it.

  7. PB PASTA?! Yum.

I don't like it when people preach- I respect their opinions and would never judge/criticise someone's beliefs, but I also never impose mine on other people and it irks me when people do that to me. I would have given them a fake number ;) I think it's great though that young people are doing things like this- I'd rather get my car washed and a talk about religion than some of the stuff I hear teenagers talking about/doing these days! Gah. Youth. LOL.

  8. Huh, I've never heard of a conversion car wash... Although my brother did call me once to say he'd just passed kids holding a sign saying "Car Washes for Jesus!".

Where I went to college there was an order of nuns who still wore the full habits (think, Sister Act), and had car washes. Those were awesome.

  9. EM, OMG I would have loved that! I am obsessed with nuns ever since I was a little kid

Joanne, ha I thought of you when I made the pasta
