Keep on "Maccing"


Hey Everyone!!!! Another day off woohoo =)...mañana I get back into work mode but for now I am still in lazy mode =). My mom is off today too so I'm going to her house later and spend the day with her. And tonight is Meet the Teachers night at Homefries school so I might go there too..at this point I think everyone believes that my sis and I are a married couple lol since I try to go to a lot of school functions.

Eats & Workouts

For lunch ayer I had leftover Organic Mac and Cheese with Turkey Hotdogs with a side of Roasted Mushrooms, Brussel Sprouts, and Onion in EVOO, minced Garlic and Salt.  

Allllllll day ayer I was simmering beans to make sure they were soft enough for Dinner. For some reason at the last minute, I was craving refried beans and thought I would give it a try but I totally messed it up. First, I used the wrong kind of beans and second they had no taste. I ended up tossing the whole pot out and just had MORE leftover Mac and Cheese and this time tossed in some Mushrooms. I finally finished the pot lol.  Do you guys have any simple refried beans recipes????

Before bed I did 30 minute of Pilates while I watched Biggest Loser and burned 119 Calories. Oh I also had about 3 tbsps of PB during the day...we should always assume that I did some PB snacking lol.

This morning I woke up around 7ish and had 1/2 a Banana before my workout I then did Jillian's Boost Your Metabolism and 5 minutes of Crunches on balance ball and burned 474 Calories. 

For breakfast I had Honey Oikos, the other half of the Banana, PB and my usual coffee.

Workout Games

I just heard that some more workout "games" are coming out at the end of the year. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to workout in the convenience of my own home (except for when I am working at the gym) and it is vital to keep it interesting. The first Game is Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 which is supposed to be released in October. From what I remember her first game got some pretty bad reviews so I am a tad hesitant to pick this one up; I will wait to see how the review are for this one. The second is the Biggest Loser Interactive Fitness Game which will be coming out on November 6th. Bob AND Jil Jil will both be on this game AND it will also be available for the Nintendo DS. From what I see it looks similar to EA Active, which I love! So this will definitely be on my Christmas list. Finally, the third game is Wii Fit 2 which comes out in October as well; I actually already reserved this one (didn't know about the other two).  This game is supposed to be similar to the original Wii Fit but it has one new feature that the first is missing; you can create a flowing workout. On the original you have to stop and search for the next thing you want to do which is annoying. I think this new feature will be very beneficial.

Do you use interactive "games" when you workout? 

I feel a migraine coming...time to lay down....

  1. sorry I could not see you on your days off...so swamped, and feeling blah too.

    I don't care much for re-fried beans but try to add some garlic, onions and olive oil to it, that should make them taste yummy!

  4. There is no such thing as too much mac'n'cheese, although it is too bad about your beans. I agree with Jen about the garlic and onions and olive oil. And salt. Salt is important.

    You are such a good aunt, going to all of your nieces school events!! I hope your migraine went away and never got to be a full-fledged ones. Those things are rough.

  5. Do you mean you want to make re-fried beans or make something WITH re-fried beans?
    I don't know how to make re-fried beans, but girl, you already KNOW what I'm going to say about eating with re-fried beans....A runny egg, yo! Spread it on top of toast, or a tostada, sprinkle on some greens and bell peppers and red onion, top with hot runny egg with cheese! Oh my gosh!

    ....I wish you were my aunt. If I squint hard enough, you can look Asian, right? ;-)

  8. No, not at all but if I'm working out or watching something on tv, I usually have my phone on vibrate. And sometimes you call me past 9 and I am already in bed or getting ready for it... I wake up around 6 to workout.

    You know, I still love ya!!!!! And hey you can tm whenever you want! That is my fave form of communication lol

  9. I don't use any games for working out. However, I do occasionally come up with some sort of game for my group fitness classes to play.

  10. I really prefer a good run or yoga to "interactive games". But anything that gets you up and moving is better than doing nothing at all.
