Mondays Are Better When You Are Off


Hey everyone!!!!! Happy Monday! I am happy cause I am off until Wednesday wooohoooooo

Fell off the Wagon...
This weekend was not my best thus far. I was home for most of it which meant a lot of boredom and mindless eating. I learned a few things...I don't mind spending 36 bucks on takeout just for me, if it means I can have 4 Slices of Thin Crust Pizza with Chicken Strips and Cinnapie (not pictured). I ended up tossing most of it away. I also learned that just because Ice Cream is on sale for 2.99 does not mean that I have to buy it. The calories are still the same even when it's on sale. And I learned that the pounds can creep up in a blink of an eye or a chew of a mouth lol.

But all was not lost...I did manage to have healthy breakfasts AND I even tried Brussel Sprouts!

First I tossed them in EVOO, Salt, and Garlic and then roasted them for about 40 minutes I had them with my left over pasta. Next time I will not use Garlic, add more salt and cook for 30 minutes. They were good but I know, they can be better...Do you have any Brussel Sprout recipes????

Today is a new day, new week, and almost a new season and I am treating it as a fresh start. I am going to set some goals..

1) Eat no more than 1500 Calories a day

2) Will not keep food in the house that I know I have no willpower over

3) I will stick to my Protein Days!

4) I will workout and try to burn 300-500 calories a day. BUT I will listen to my body!

5) No eating 2 hrs before bed time

6) I will love myself and stay positive

Today has been good, so far I had 1/2 a Banana before my workout. I did EA Active for 40 minutes and then did Turbo Jam Cardio Party and burned a total of 752 Calories 
In 1 hr and 30 minutes!!!!! For Breakfast I had Kashi Oatmeal, with 1/2 a Banana, PB, and Slivered Almonds.

I am going to read some of my old food & workout journals to refresh on what I did in the past (when I was at my lowest) and see how I can recreate that now.

  1. I LOVE roasted brussel sprouts! I used to think I hated them, but cutting in half, spraying with oil and seasoning well before roasting = delish :D

    LOVE your last goal!!!! Be careful with the 1500 cal intake if you are burning 500...not sure if you have used a calculator to figure out a reasonable intake, but you don't want a deficit that leaves your body with less than 1200 cals. Caloriecount has a pretty good one :)

    On my moderate days I need to eat 1343 Calories to lose 1.48 lbs a week and on my very active days I need to eat 1542 Calories to burn 1.55 lbs a week

  3. I am right with you on the ice cream thing. When it's on sale, I find myself putting it right in my cart. By the time I come home, I'm already dreaming of eating it! It's frustrating sometimes!

  4. I'm so glad you took this weekend as a learning experience. I love your goals for the week. Number 2 and number 6 are my favorites! I cannot keep certain "red light" foods in the house, it definitely helps to have them gone.

  5. Anne Marie, I think ice cream is so easy to over eat because it is creamy and you never really get full...for me it is better to have portion controlled ice cream in the house; like the Lil Drums from Drum Sticks

  6. I totally agree with your post title! Happy belated Monday-off. And at least your weekend looked fun. I don't like to think in terms of falling off the wagon. It's just life and you can't fall off or get on, you are just there. Good job being so positive girl!

  8. Yum, I just roasted brussels sprouts for the first time the other day and they were delicious!
    I cut them in half, sprayed them and seasoned lightly with salt, pepper, garlic powder and nutmeg.

    Have you ever thought about investing in a Body Bugg? I made a post about it a while back and it's taught me so much about food and how much I need to fuel my body. It makes you way for aware of what's going on and sometimes you'f be surprised how many caloried you're actually eating. But you burn a lot and this might really work for you!

  9. Jen, I agree with what you said about Joanne's comment; I think it was great.

    Dawn- I don't have a body bugg but heard really good things about it. Right now I use my Polar F6 HR monitor when I workout and she is pretty accurate (all my things are she's ha)

    Between your page and Sarah's, I was craving Brussel Sprouts...do you like them better boiled or roasted?
