Exercise or Sleep....

My coworker made a comment to me ayer; he said that I was more like myself as opposed to Tuesday when I was dragging ass lol. He was right, even though I only had about 3 hours of sleep; I was still much more awake and happier than I was on Tuesday at work. And I know exactly what to attribute this to...EXERCISE! If I miss a morning workout, I am yawning and sluggish for the rest of the day and I am in a "mood". Exercise gives me a natural high and I love the way it makes me feel. Do you notice that you feel better during the day if you workout in the morning?

Eats and Workouts:

For Lunch I made a Green Monster with Spinach, 1/2 a Banana, PB, 2 Scoops of Vanilla LMM, and Splenda

I was hoping that the Green Monster would fill me up but I was still hungry so I ordered Grilled Eggplant with Marinara Sauce. This tasted much more healthier than when it is Sauteed...I love when something is grilled and it makes you feel like you are at a bbq lol


For Din Din I roasted 1/2 a Sweet Potato in EVOO, Salt, Paprika, and Splenda. I paired it with 3 Morningstar Farm "Buffalo Wings" and PB.

I need to figure out how to make the SP Fries crunchy but not burnt...any suggestions???? I had them in the oven for about 40 minutes at 400 Degrees.

For Dessert I mixed a tbsp of PB with 1/2 a scoop of Chocolate LMM, splash of FF Milk, and packet of Splenda...I loved it so much that I made another bowl before bed lol

This morning I woke up and had 1/2 a Banana (no picture). I worked out for 70 minutes and did 30 Day Shred Level 2, Jillian's Kickboxing, and Namaste Yoga and burned 517 Calories

For Breakfast I just had Chobani Honey Yogurt, PB, and the other 1/2 of my Banana with my usual coffee.


So last night I attempted to be a brave little soldier lol and sleep in my bed but it was HARD. I live in an ooooooold building which means I can hear my neighbors walking around in their apartments...and with every creaking of the floor, I would jump up. I felt like my heart was in my throat lol. The strange thing was that one of my neighbors NEVER walks around but for some reason she was pacing all night and it was driving me nuts lol...I hope it was her lol

Remind me why I wanted to see THAT movie???? lol

  1. I can't exercise in the morning during the week because I can't get my arse up early enough. I do feel better after I exercise at any time though!

    I add a little cooking spray to my fries and crisp them up- I think your cooking time and temp are good, so maybe watch them a little closer and flip them?

  2. I've ALWAYS wanted to good tips on making crispy, but not burnt sweet potato fries. I can't get it down either!! It's ridiculous.

    Regarding workouts in the morning, I completely agree with you. I feel so much better throughout the day when I workout in the AM! It's nice.

  4. Lol, maybe he was pacing because he saw the movie too!! ;-)

    I definitely feel great when I work out first thing in the morning but it's hard with my schedule these days.

    However, I have noticed that I either like to do it first thing or between work and home as opposed to middle of the day...something about that just disrupts my balance of everything :)

  5. i tend to micro-wave steam things cause i hate long cooking times... maybe do that so they're cooked, then just put them on broil for a few minutes to crisp them?

  6. oh man thatmust be hard to try to sleep when you hear footsteps all night! tell them to knock itoff!! haha

    i do love working out in the AM it wakes me up and makes me feel better all day! when I don't workout in the AM though, I always try to make it in the aafternoon-never ppast 5 though, after 5 it iss very hard to get me motivated LOL...its funny because I am a personal trainer so I motivate people alll day long but sometimes have the hardest time motivating myself!!

  8. I do feel more energetic when I work out in the mornings. It also makes me a lot happier when I don't have to stress about going after work (today)! Are you around one day next week for sushi? My e-mail is mengel3 (@) gmail.com just so we avoid stalkers! Lol.

    That's why I wish I had time to work out in the morning! I'm more slugglish during the day until I get in some exercise at night--then I'm all pumped up and have to go to bed! UGH!

  11. I cook my SP fries on a higher temp, about 450 degrees. hmm...I like it a bit burnt, though. And honestly, SP fries will not get crunchy unless you use a bit of oil. Haha.

    Oh, and YES exercise makes me feel TONS better! It seriously is my life-saver, esp when I have a day of stress! Otherwise, I'm a total FREAKING BITCH!! lol.
