I've Got Sunshine On a Cloudy Day...

Well, I guess you'll say... What can make me feel this way?


It is a coooooold and rainy day (again) in NYC but yet these pancakes make it all better lol. I made these last night, and just popped them in the microwave this morning with PB, 1/2 a Banana, and Lite Syrup with my usual coffee on the side. I have a question... Is it bad that my Breakfast is a little over 500 calories (including the ff Milk in my coffee)???? Especially since I want to lose weight??? I feel like it might be too much.

Eats and Workouts
Ayer for Lunch I had a WW Wrap with Fried Shrimp, Mushrooms, and Marinated Artichoke Hearts and a little bit of Marinara Sauce. I love that the texture of Artichoke is very similar to cheese.

After work I did Turbo Jam 20 minute workout and Namaste Yoga: Flexibility in Back and Hips and burned 272 Calories in 45 minutes. My lower back has been hurting me for the past 2 days, I think it is a combo of the Kettle Bell workout and TOM.

BTW I am trying to master the Crane Pose...wish me luck lol

For din din I had a cup of Campbell's Garden Veggie Soup. For some reason, I liked it more last night; I think it's because I added some water to it and it made the taste a tad more subtle.

For Dessert I had 2 tbsps of PB mixed with 1.5 scoops of Vanilla LMM, Splash of FF Milk, and Splenda

This morning I woke up at 6:30 (way too dark in the am!) and did Jillian's Boost Your Metabolism and burned 491 Calories in 55 minutes. I wanted to quit after about 20 minutes but I dedicated my workout to my Grandfather and whenever I wanted to stop I would hear his voice "Tu puede hacerlo mama" (You can do it mama)...he used to call me that =)
Pedometer Results
I was pretty shocked to see the results last night...all I have to say is THANK GOD I WORKOUT! I didn't wear the Pedometer during my morning workout ayer but did wear it during my afternoon workout and EVEN with that, I only took 3108 steps.
Today I wore it during my morning workout and so far I have taken 4104 Steps. But how accurate is that? hmmmmm

  1. So after you reminded me that I should use my pedometer.....Mine decided to not work!!! I am so mad because I actually worked out yesterday and I really wanted to track my steps :(

  4. I think a bigger breakfast is good and a great way to start the day. It always makes me less hungry later in the day. Mmmmmm pancakes!

  5. I agree, big breakfasts are good. One time I had a pedometer. I used it while walking outdoors up & down hills, etc. I didn't realize it, but the pedometer shook or something causing the numbers to go up. In fact, I could just stand in one place but pretend to be Shakira & it would go up, up, up! Hehe!

  8. Interesting. Did your workout include cardio? If so, I would think you got 4000 steps right there, so maybe it isn't too accurate.

    Regarding your breakfast, 500 calories is only too much if you don't compensate later on. If you listen to your hunger signals appropriately that those 500 calories should keep you full extra long, and you won't eat as much during the mid-morning hours...right??

  9. I log about 8000 steps a day but then i realized I dont have a car! LOL. using mass transit in queens means walking lots of blocks to the train.
    and yum on the pancakes!

  10. 500 calories isn't bad at all! Whenever I eat big breakfast I actually eat less throughout the days. Studies show it helps you lose weight too! And those pancakes look fabulous!

  11. Breakfast should really be one of the bigger (if not the biggest) meal of the day since your body is still recovering from 8+ hours of no food, plus needs food for energy for the rest of the day.
    I've found that on days when I have a big breakfast I eat less the rest of the day.

    oh! and if you haven't already you should read "french women don't get fat" best book almost ever (the chapter about leek soup is a little weird but I mostly ignore it).

  12. No way is 500 calories too much! I personally believe breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day :)
