Temptation Thursday

My mom tm'ed me ayer and invited me over for dinner, I tm'ed her back and informed her that it was protein day (she should know this by now). She replied with "What can you eat" and I say "Meat, Veggies etc" and she replies "I am making Lasagna and Bread Pudding" hmmmm is it me or that the complete OPPOSITE of Protein Day. I declined and told her thanks but no thanks...I knew if I went and ate all that food, I would hate myself. We ended up compromising and you will see how great my mommy is when we get to my eats.

Eats and Workouts

Ayer for Lunch I had Grilled Eggplant with Grilled Shrimp in Marinara Sauce and asked them to use little or no oil.
For Dinner I ended up going to mom's house...this is what THEY ate

Lasagna with Italian Bread...YUMS

And this is what I ate

Meat from the Lasagna that my mom set aside for me, Plantain. Avocado, Broccoli with Cheese, Tomatoes, and Cabbage

But the Temptation Continues...

Halloween Candy

Bread Pudding with Guava Paste filling

But all was not lost because I packed 2 servings of Lasagna for dinner tonight and this weekend AND Bread Pudding which I had for Breakfast this morning

My mom is the best cook out of all of her sisters which is probably why all the "kids" from my generation tend to go to her house for Thanksgiving and New Years Eve

I did not workout last night but I did do the Warm up, Cardio, and Cool Down from my Women's Health DVD this morning and burned 280 Calories in 35 Minutes.

My throat is killing me! Perhaps because it is raining and freezing cold over here...I just popped some Airborne =)

Have a great day...ohhh and one more thing....TGIF!

Namaste...

  3. Plantain jealousy here...your mama is the best for hooking you up and respecting your protein day wishes :)

We don't have Halloween candy yet either- too early and too much for a girl like me!

  5. I LOVE lasagna! And of course I love Halloween candy...it is very tempting, you are right.

Regarding your comment on my blog, no matter what type of calories you are burning (fat or carb) it really does not matter in the long run. Any EXTRA calories you eat or don't burn will turn into fat. SO if you aren't burning fat calories, but instead are burning carbohydrate calories, it's still beneficial because those calories could have eventually turned into fat anyway. Does that make sense? In the long run, burning ANY type of calorie is beneficial.

Gina, it makes perfect sense...this is why I just try to focus on calories before smoke starts coming out of my ears ha

  15. Mmm, plaintains, I haven't had one in forever! Your mom is sweet :) It feels good when someone cares enough to accommodate our dietary preferences. The only thing that has kept me away from the Halloween candy is being vegan :) It has added benefits, lol.
