Brrrrr...

Oh My it was cold this morning! I need to invest in some gloves ASAP if we plan to do this more often. Thankfully the snow held off and I was able to enjoy my walk with Renata without slipping on any ice =)

Of course I brought along my camera to snap some pictures of the scenery...a bloggie always has their camera on hand lol.

We walked for about 40 minutes and then I came back home and did Namaste Yoga for Distance Runners and burned a total of 338 Calories.

For Breakfast I warmed up with some Pumpkin Pancakes with Syrup and PB with my usual coffee. This has been a great morning!

So I decided that I am going to train for a 5K in 2010 but I am looking for a running buddy in my area! I am about to put a listing on Craigslist lol...I am trying to talk Renata into it but I'm not sure if she wants to =/. I think training with someone might make it easier and more fun. When you train for a marathon do you prefer to do it alone or with a buddy?

Have a fabulous day! And stay warm =)

I prefer running alone, that is my time to be free out there on the road, and then I can stick to my training, I know others prefer a buddy, it can help push you, but it all depends on you I think.

Go for it, I want to run a 10k next Spring. I am thinking the Nike Human Race but not sure when it is.

Wishing we lived closer I would love to train for a 5K. When I trained for the 1/2 marathon last year I trained with my sister-in-law. We also crossed the finish line together on race day. It was a lot of fun.

However, neither of us are the 'train and talk' type of people. But it was nice to have company!! Lots of luck!!

Grab some cheap gloves frm target! I always lose mine so I don't spend too much money on them!

Lol craigs list is soo sketch- I like to workout in a group like bootcamp running- with another person it makes me feel pressured to keep up!

I like to run alone, but if there was someone as slow as me I wouldn't mind having a buddy!

A 5K is a great idea! I'm so excited for you!!!

I only run on the treadmill, so I suppose I only run alone and I don't think there is anyone as slow as I am!

5k! very exciting! I think that you should do whatever you prefer taht you feel you would get the most out of it! personally, I think I would prefer to train alone, BUT thats just me, if you think you prefer the motivation of another person, then for sure train with someone else! whatever you choose, you will do awesome!!

I'd rather train with someone. I'm going to run with a group for the half.

Namaste yoga...what exactly is this? I know there is a 30 minute program on tv called namaste yoga, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. I would love to do a distance runner yoga tape! Good luck with the training. I like running solo and with a partner...I like to mix it up.

Missy, are you able to train in Forest Park???? =)

FFF, yup we are talking about the same Namaste Yoga on Fit TV. They have a sequence that is focused on poses for Runners/Walkers. I have it saved on my DVR =)

Good for you! That's a great goal to strive for. I have never run a marathon, but I have run a 5k. I didn't really train for it though. If I had trained, I probably would have done it myself, unless I had a REALLY motivated friend to do it with me, but I don't really.

Good luck!! Let me know if you needs tips on what to eat :)

Wish we lived closer because I am training for my next 5K. The family does a ton of races and I am sick of playing cheerleader.

Good for you Mari!

I've done it both ways. The first set of races I ran, I did it all alone, including my training. I think it was good for me to do that at least once. But now I train with a friend and it has definitely helped me stay motivated this time around. And she is faster than me, so it makes me work a little harder too! Good luck :)
