400th Post!!!!!! Q&A Time…

We interrupt your regularly scheduled blogging to bring you a special Q&A post, in honor of my 400th post!!!!!!!!!

Mansana (One Healthy Apple): Hmm...my question would be:
What's your best advice for not getting bored of workouts and sticking through them? I would recommend trying new things…if you get stuck in a rut, try a new cardio machine, sign up for a new class, or go out and buy a new workout DVD. Working out should be fun, this way you stick to your program. I personally need to switch it up every so often because if not I will most likely skip my workout.

-What's your fave food?/TV show?/movie? My fave food  would be fried Calamari and Shimp with marinara sauce with pasta on the side! My fave tv show is SEX AND THE CITY!!!! that’s my bible lol. And my favorite movie is Adventures in Babysitting which I have seen over 500 times! Seriously, I HAVE lol


-What got you into Yoga? I started to do Yoga when I began my weight loss journey. I was going through a very bad time in my life and I found calmness when I did Yoga. Something about sitting there and being one with my body made me feel so tranquil. Every time I mastered a new position, it was like notch on my belt lol


-What's your fave childhood memory? When I was about 8 years old, I went to Dominican Republic for the first time with my family. My fondest memory would be sitting on my grandparents porch and sipping cafe con leche in the morning and just smelling the fresh air and feeling the warm breeze. That would definitely be my “Happy Place”


-Which Hollywood actress would play you in a movie??
I would have to say Mya, only because people say that I look like her AND Michelle Rodriguez because she is a kick ass Dominicana like me!!!!!!!

(2) Which US celebrity male or female, would you most like to be, and why? HAHA is this for real? do I even have to answer this? JIL JIL!The reason I pick her is because I admire her dedication and passion…she is living my dream. She is getting to do what she loves and she is helping people achieve their dreams at the same time


(3) If you had one wish, what would you wish for? To spend one more day with my grandfather and grandmother…most of my favorite childhood memories was when I was with them.

Jen: How do you stay so positive and when you are down, what do you do? I surround myself with positive people and I try to focus on the good things in my life instead of worrying about the bad things. “fake it until you make it”,  it can be as easy as blasting your favorite song and dancing around the living room! I also think that working out makes me feel better, it stimulates the release of endorphins.

Jess Fit Chick in the City: Don't be scared, Mari! If you can run outside for your 5k I'd recommend running outside. Its so different than running indoors. When is this 5k? I am yet to find a local 5k in the Spring but I did find a 4 mile race in May in Forest Park which is right near my house.

Ashley: I have to agree with Julie, those Jillian workouts do seem pretty hard-core! I also actually have a question too... how do you calculate the number of calories you've burned? Just curious :-)

Melissa: I was wondering what kind of heart rate monitor you use. I want to know how many calories I burn during my workouts like you do. I want to copy you ;)

My favorite workout buddy has to be my Polar f6 HR Watch! It is very accurate and it pushes me to go harder when I see that I am slacking.
