HEY EVERYONE! I hope ya’ll are having a great weekend! Mine has been pretty good so far, I plan to loaf around my apartment for the rest of the day.
We have so much to catch up on. First, let me tell you some 5K news…Fit Chick In The City told me about an upcoming 5K and I think I am going to run in it. I don’t want to give too much details just yet because I don’t want to jinx it but I will keep you posted once it draws near. Thank you so much Jess for thinking of me!!!!
Eats and Workouts
For Lunch on Friday I had Campbell’s V8 Butternut Squash Soup with Salt and Pepper Popchips. These are becoming quite addictive!
After work, I met up with my sister and ran some errands and then we went to the gym. I did Day 3 of C25K, followed by 15 minutes of straight jogging at 4.6 and guess what….I LET GO!!!!!!!!!!! This is HUGE for me! We then did lower body Strength Training and I ended up burning a total of 637 Calories in 70 minutes.
After the gym we went to mom’s house to pick up homefries and we talked my mom into making din din. She made Mangu (mashed plantains) with Avocado, Onions, Cheese, and Puerto Rican Sausage yuuuuuuuums!
When I got home from my mom’s, I did Jillian’s Wii Game which focused on abs and burned 259 Calories.
Before heading to work at the Gym, I did Jillian’s Kickboxing DVD and burned 207 Calories in 22 minutes.
For Breakfast I had a Green Monster with
- 1/2 a Banana
- Peanut Butter
- Light Muscle Milk
I didn’t workout at the gym because I trained 2 new clients, and honestly I had no urge to. I have been spoiled by my new gym lol
After work I grabbed some lunch and headed to my mom’s house for the day. I got a sammie from Subway; 6 inch 9 Grain Sub (inside scooped out) with 3 slices of Pepperoni, 2 slices of Swiss Cheese, 2 slices of Salami, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Olives, Sweet Peppers, and Sweet Onion Dressing with Apple Slices and a Coke Zero, I rarely drink soda but sometimes I have a craving.
For Din Din I convinced my mom into making making Locrio de Salchicha. Locrio is similar to paella, you can make it with seafood, chicken, or sausage (Salchicha); which is how I wanted it. I paired it with some Avocado.
I also had my mom’s famous rice pudding! You haven't had good rice pudding until you have my mom’s. I could eat this everyday lol
I also snacked on Lucky Charms and Chocolate covered Cherries with my niece lol.
Why is it that when you have carbs, you always crave more…when I got home from my madre’s house this bag of Popchips was calling my name!
These were amazing! Look at all the flavor on this chip! It was so good that I went on Popchips website to find some stores in my neighborhood that carry them.
This morning I did Jillian’s Wii Game and burned 208 Calories in 35 minutes. I then went to the gym with my sister and did Day 4 of C25K; 5 min warmup with 2 minutes of walking and 90 seconds of running intervals, and 5 minute cool down (total of 30 minutes), 15 minutes on the Elliptical, Upper and Lower Body Strength Training, and 3 sets of 15 Reps on the Captain’s Chair and I burned a total of 712 Calories. I managed to let go when I was running again and this time it was 5.6!
After the gym, we went to pick up niece at my mom’s house, went searching for Popchips, and then did Grocery Shopping for the week.
By the time I got home, I could not wait to make Brunch. I made Veggie and Tofu Stir-fry in PB, Sesame Teriyaki Sauce, and Szechuan Hot Paste.
And of course some Protein Cookie Dough for dessert.
