Calorie Burning Machine!

Hey loves!!!!! I hope everyone had a fabulous Monday =) I am a little under the weather but trying to push through…mind over matter.

Eats and Workouts

Ayer for din din I made a sammie with a WW Wrap, 3 Morningstar Buffalo Wings, Reduced Fat Swiss, Tomato, Lettuce, Jack Daniel BBQ Sauce, and a little bit of Mayo. Simply Delish!

And for dessert I had some of my new favorite fruit salad (Grapes, Apples, and Oranges in Cool Whip, Cream Cheese, and Lemonade Crystal Light)

This morning I woke up feeling like crap but forced myself to eat Breakfast. I had a bowl of Kashi Oatmeal with PB and 1/2 a Banana with my usual Cafe con Leche.

I really wanted to go to the park again and run so I took some more meds and waited for them to kick in…I finally felt a little better and went to the Park and did day 3 of week 6 of C25K which was 5 min warm-up, 25 minute Jog, and 5 minute cool down; I burned a total of 416 Calories. After my run I came back home and did 15 minutes of Yoga Stretches and burned another 65 Calories.

For Lunch I made a Green Monster with Spinach, 1/2 a Banana, PB, and 1 scoop of Light Muscle Milk

Later in the afternoon, I met my sister and we went to the Gym. I did 30 minutes on the Elliptical and followed a program from About.com which was:

Elliptical Trainer

  • Using manual program, enter workout time as 30 minutes and choose appropriate level
  • 6 Minutes: Set ramps (if option) and resistance levels at medium level. PE=5 (I did level 7)
  • 2 Minutes: Set ramps at highest level and increase resistance every 30 seconds. PE=6-8 (I did level 15)
  • 2 Minutes: Lower ramps and resistance to comfortable level. PE=5 (level 7 again)
  • 6 minutes: Set ramps and resistance to medium and go backwards. PE=5-6 (level 7 again)
  • Repeat entire cycle for remaining time
  • Calories Burned: 250-300 (based on 140 lb person)

I cooled down with 5 more minutes and then hopped on the bike for 5 more and then did Upper Body Strength Training and I burned a total of 657 Calories.

After the gym I went to my mom’s house and had some homemade veggie soup which had Corn, Puréed Carrots, Spinach, Celery, Onions, Peppers, Tomato, Garlic, and Cabbage

I think I need some more Calories so I might have some fruit salad before bed…I feel a fever coming, Uh Oh!

  1. girl i am seriously worried about you! you are SICK and need to REST!! i dont want you to end up in the hospital or something! give your body a break and rest up love!

  5. Not sure how you do all that working out while sick! Whenever I'm sick I just tend to do a lot of gentle yoga. It really helps to work things through me, but allows me to move a little while being gentle to my body.

  6. Excuse me Ms Mari, but if your feeling unwell. You NEED to STOP doing any exercise until your better.

    Its no good you taking meds and then struggling on. Meds only relieve symptons, so your poor body is still trying to fight infection while your punishing it with exercise.

    If you keep on like this you are risking this cold turning into something more serious like Pneumonia..

    My advice make a chicken soup, and eat it before bed, forget the meds, REST! and definitely! NO EXERCISE!

    Listen to your big brother dammit! lol.

  7. I hope you feel better soon. I have worked out with a cold (although never with a fever, aches, or chills!) and it makes me feel better. But 2 intense workouts would kill me, especially while fighting something off. Be careful and get well soon.

  9. just checking in before work...girlie, sounds like you need rest and maybe relax a bit with the working out, could be why you aren't getting better, or maybe need a dr visit.give yourself a rest, take care of yourself :) Luigi is right on!

  12. Girl...you need to get some rest until you are feeling better! I swear that mom's soups have magical healing powers though so hopefully you wake up in top form today.

    The lighting in your oatmeal pic is awesome! YAY SUNSHINE!

    Now go back to sleep for the day and let your body heal!

  13. Sorry you still aren't feeling well! Tea is definitely a good thing, as are vitamins C & D :)

    Sometimes when I work out that much and don't eat enough is when I feel "under the weather" or get a sore throat. I hope whatever you have going on evens back out soon!

  14. Sorry you are feeling sick love. Try to give yourself a day of rest though, it will be worth it in the end!

    I can't believe you are already on Day 3 of Week 6! I'm so behind now. :( I'm going to do Day 1 today after I read a few more blogs.

  15. I hope you don't get a fever!! Being sick is no fun, keep feeding your body with good, wholesome food, and see which of those guys comes over and takes care of you when you are sick ;) You'll know which one you really love then! hehe
    Soon I am going to post about the calorie read-outs on exercise machines. I know you are very much into tracking your calories, but they may not be as accurate as you think....just a heads up. They aren't that far off, but staying on the machine maybe 5 minutes longer would be best if you really want to burn a certain amount of calories. I'll post about this soon.

  19. Sweetie, I hope you feel better! I am so proud of you going out early and getting a kick ass workout! I can do early morning park runs becuase I can bring Mickey ( and taht will tire her out for hte day!) let me know if you want to do it again and I will wake my ass up early for a run!

This is delight full and Joanne being ur sweetfren too, am inviting u here for her little party(its her birthday dear -i know that u know dear) which is a suprise party for her ...do leave her a wish in the sprinkles ok.....my feeds arent working so am trying my best to find all her pals to leave her a wish in the sprinkles before she gets there or even after....will ya help too to make it a little sucess....and leave her a wish too?
