Mari Is A Rolling Stone…

TGIF Loves!!!!!!! It is a gloomy rainy day in NYC but it’s okay because it is FRIIIIIDAY!

Thanks to everyone who gave me some tips with my Foam Roller…and a SPECIAL THANK YOU TO NAOMI!!!!! who went above and beyond and created this foam roller routine for me! I still feel a little awkward when I am stretching out on it but I am happy to say that my shins ARE feeling better. It might be the foam roller or the fact that I have been taking it easy the past couple of days (I have only been doing Yoga and stretches with the FR) either way, I am happy. Oh FYI using the FR is also great for arm strength training since you are holding yourself up when you are stretching out your legs.

Eats

Ayer for Breakfast I had Chobani Honey Yogurt with 1/2 a Banana, and PB with my usual cafe con leche.

  • Spinach

  • Chocolate LMM
  • Splenda

And a mini LemonZest Luna Bar

I was planning to enjoy a home cooked meal for din din but my mom received some great news ayer and wanted to celebrate by going to 5 Burros! I decided to order the most amazing, refreshing, tasty, delicious SALAD EVER! She was so nice that I had to snap a picture twice!

Ensalada Mexicana con Camaron (Fresh Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato, Onion, Cilantro, Lime, Shrimp, and 5 Burro House Dressing)DSCN5637 DSCN5638

I also had some refried beans on the side…

I also snacked on some guacamole AND since I am only human, I stole two of my sisters nachos (no meat).

Is it lame that I never knew that 5 Burros stood for 5 Boroughs?! Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. My sister pointed out that the Burros had the tats on their bum, each with one borough lol.

*************************************

This morning I had they yummiest yogurt mess! Chobani Honey Yogurt, with 1 Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, 1/2 a Banana, and PB…with my usual cafe con leche

I decided that I am finally going to watch Food Inc. today, I might be one of the last bloggers (Jess too) who has not seen it. The main reason that I have been so hesitant (and scared) to watch it is because I am very VERY Anti Animal Cruelty and I don’t know how far they take it. I cry at the circus and ASPCA commercials so this will be tough for me to sit through…BUT I need to watch this already so if anything I will fwd through those particular scenes…

I am off to catch up with Dante and magazines…have a great day loves!

Namaste…

  3. 5 boroughs. Doh. I didn't get it either...just kind of thought along the lines of burrito/burro... I don't know. Lol. Salad looks deeeeeeeelish.

I haven't seen Food, Inc either. It's not come to the UK but I'm not sure it would be a good idea for me to see it :/ *mixed feelings*

  4. That salad does look amazing! And Food Inc. is so good...I tell a lot of my meat-eater friends to watch it not to scare them, but to educate them. It really brings to light an issue that needs more exposure, and does so in an interesting way.

  5. That movie is one of the best things that ever happened to me. It makes you not crave fast food and junk because you will always think about what is in it first. I hope you like it!

  8. You know I saw the movie. I'm a bit of a sissy when it comes to animal cruelty- this doesn't cover anything gory, so that should be fine. What it does is ask some questions and makes us aware of where our food comes from. It's only information, which I think is less scary than not knowing!

Hope you like it! And 5 burros...oooooooh- I get it now!

  11. That shrimp salad looks super good. I love shrimp, although it took a long time for me to actually like them as I am a vegetarian, and I did not eat fish or seafood for so long, but for nutritional reasons, I added in fish, slowly, and then seafood.

  23. That salad, with the HUGE shrimp, is calling my name! I love it, it looks so delicious.
So you have not seen Food Inc.?? Come on!! Who are you?! No I'm jk. I hesitated to watch it myself because I was afraid it would make me afraid to eat food! I was weary about a month later, but now I'm over it. Of course, it's still in the back of my head and I do make better choices now...for the most part!
    Have a great one Mari.

  24. Just be forewarned. Food, Inc. is kind of depressing. but then again, so is the state of our nation. So what can you expect.

Love 5 burros! I totally did not get that about "5 boroughs". LOL.
