Snap Out Of It…

Hello my loves! I am so sorry for being MIA but I was not feeling like myself for the last couple of days and instead of being a Debbie Downer on my blog, I decided to just take a step back. Thankfully I snapped out of it and I feel much better.

This morning I woke up and had a Banana before heading to the park.


My feet and legs have been in pain ever since last Saturday when I walked a mile in my Ugg boots but I could not take one more rest day without going crazy. I honestly think that NOT working out had something to do with my bad mood for the past couple of days. I headed to the track and tried to run but it was so painful so I had to mix it up with walking. I ended up only doing 2 miles run/walk in 25 minutes and a nice looooong 10 minute stretch and burned 423 Calories. I then came home and continued to stretch with my Foam Roller for another 20 minutes and burned an additional 137 Calories.


I decided since the weather is getting warmer, I will start a Green Monster Challenge. For 1 month I will replace at least one meal with a Green Monster.  I was going to wait until Sunday to start the challenge but why wait?

This morning for Breakfast I had a Green Monster made with Spinach, Strawberries, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Light Muscle Milk, Coffee, and Splenda.

Lent update

I am not sure if some of you guys remember but I gave up Protein Cookie Dough I MISS YOU! and Meat for Lent. I am happy to say that it has been one month since I have touched either of these things. Not eating meat has been easy for me especially since I finally saw Food, Inc last week and it just put everything in perspective for me. I don’t want to say that I will NEVER eat meat again because I don’t know what the future has in store for me but for now, I am enjoying this lifestyle. I know there will be a time when I probably will want a piece of steak or a cheeseburger but that will not be an every day occurrence.

I am off to ice my legs and feet! Have a great day loves….

  1. I'm glad you are feeling better and not Debbie Downer this am! I slept in today hoping it would improve my mood. I feel a little better so now I'm going to stretch lots and prepare for a run.

    I need to invest in some protein powder so I can make my green monsters more filling!

  2. yay glad you are feeling back to your normal self! I get in those funks esp if I go more than 3 days stright with no exercise, I know that that is the cause of my crabby mood!!

  3. sorry you've had a rough few days... I think everyone can relate to needing a break.Not exercising drives me loopy.

    I don't do green monsters but SO PROUD OF YOU FOR STICKING WITH THE NO-DOUGH!!!!!!

  4. I was feeling quite rough for a few days, last time I went to the gym.

    Which is why I now avoid those horrible places, full of fit, healthy, active people. Yukk!

    No pain, no gain! What moron thought that one up. lol.

  10. Ugh. I have down days too, and they are no fun. They are usually made up with an "UP" day soon following. Do you get that way too? I do find that exercise really helps. I don't think it's placebo either. There really are neurotransmitters and endorphins that get released when we workout, and they are so helpful.

    I will JOIN you in your Green Monster Challenge. haha, I do it everyday anyway! Of course I always have some granola or something else with it. The green monster just doesn't cut it.

  11. That's so wonderful that you've been able to abstain from meat for a month, and have found the process pretty easy! Good for you! I've done green smoothie "fasts/cleanses" where I'll take a day to only eat green smoothies (like 5 or so in a day). I always feel really energized and good the next day. So good luck with your challenge!

    I go crazy when I can't work out. The week that I actually couldn't right after I got injured...I became homicidal. Seriously.

    Yay for sticking to your Lent resolution! That is awesome. You are a better Catholic than I ever was.

  16. I missed you! Sometimes you need a mental and physical break. I like the idea of a Green Monster challenge! I have had one everyday for the past 4, and I am learning to like them more and more each day.
