Everything Happens For A Reason…

Hello my loves! Can you believe it?  I am blogging 2 days in a row! SHOCKER. Actually my friend Liz yelled at me for not blogging as much as I used to and honestly I realized that when I do blog on a regular basis, I eat better. I feel like I am checking in with you guys. I am going to try be better with my time and try to squeeze in half an hour to blog.
Eats and Workouts
Ayer for lunch I had a little accident. I spilled my Amy’s Enchilada alllllll over myself when I took it out the microwave! It was horrid but it still tasted delish!

Later in the afternoon I did Jillian’s Boost Your Metabolism and burned 486 Calories…I was a sweaty mess and I loved every minute of it!
For din din I mixed together Whole Wheat 4 Cheese Buitoni Ravioli with 4 Cheese Buitoni Riserva with 4 Cheese Sauce.

BUT when I took a bite of the Riserva, I noticed that I brought the CHICKEN and 4 cheese ones by mistake! I spit it out and picked out the rest and was left with this…Crappola!

I was obviously still hungry, so I had Protein Cookie Dough with Strawberries for dessert.

I was in bed by 10 pm and snuggled up with a issue of Women’s Health Magazine.

My plan was to wake up at 6:30 and hit the gym for an early sweat session but instead I was in lazy mode and stayed in bed until 8:30 (I need to work on this). I WAS going to just say “F it” and stay home but instead I ate 1/2 a Banana and headed out the door to the gym
Workout:
Walk to Gym-1.1 Miles
20 min jog on Treadmill - 1.71 Miles (I tried to keep it easy and short since my leg is still hurting)
10 mins on Elliptical
Upper Body
Walk home 1.1 Miles
Foam Stretch
I was soooooo freaking sweaty when I was done. I burned 1106 calories. The sad part was that I had to walk 1 mile back home and it looked like I had peepee pants on! ::Gasp::

I refueled with 1% Cottage Cheese mixed with Splenda and Vanilla Extract and a Chocolate & Banana Protein Muffin crumbled on top with PB and my usual Cafe con Leche…

Everything happens for a Reason…
When I moved to my neighborhood, I noticed this huge house near my building with beautiful spiritual statues and a sign that said “Kashi”. I always wondered what they did there but went about my business. Then one Saturday I noticed a line forming along the block and it turns out it was a food bank! They are The River Fund New York which is part of Kashi Ashram Interfaith Spiritual Community Center. Every Saturday they open up the Food Pantry and the line goes around the block and I usually see all these people waiting to get food while I walk to the supermarket to get my grub and I always say “I want to volunteer here”. This morning when I was walking to the gym, I noticed a man working in the garden and I walked up to him “I want to volunteer” and I think I caught him off guard but we hit it off so this Saturday I am going at 7:30 in the morning to help out and hopefully it’s a good fit and I continue to help out. I am so grateful that I overslept because if not, I would have never had the chance to meet with this man. Besides the Food Pantry they also do Mobile Outreach, Vitamin Outreach, Back to School, Winter Coat Outreach, and Holiday Gift Giving.
I am really excited about this new adventure! but wait it gets better! I was reading their newsletter and one of their goals for 2010 IS…
S.H.A.K.E. ~ Kid’s Exercise Program
In partnership with the New York Food Bank, we wish
to bring the S.H.A.K.E. Program to the children of the
families we serve.
I am all over this! I will keep you guys posted!
Have a great day my loves!
Namaste…
