Southern Hospitality

I know many of you think that Chivalry is dead but I still believe that it is alive and kicking….what kind of a guy sends you flowers just because you have been dating for 1 month???? My GUY!

What guy actually listens when you speak and surprises you with dinner at a place you have been dying to try??? Again…MY Guy!

Last night Nik and I went to Southern Hospitality for din din…I heard about this restaurant on the Wendy William’s Show and wanted to try it ever since…and it doesn’t hurt that it is co-owned by none other than Justin Timberlake!

I really loved the atmosphere…The lighting was perfect for a date but not so much for taking food pictures lol

The menu is filled with down south comfort food and I knew I wanted to try one specific thing….FRIED PICKLES!!!!! I blame this on hours of watching Jersey Shore and Snookie sending me subliminal messages…

DSCN6605

They were interesting but not exactly what I thought they would taste like….but still good.

We carefully studied the menu for our main courses…

For my my entrée, I ordered The Fried Shrimp Po' Boy: Crispy Fried Shrimp Loaded into a Freshly Baked Hero with Tomato, Shredded Lettuce, and Remoulade

With a side of fries…

I really enjoyed this sammie, it was packed with flavor and it was not HUGE! I was scared that the portions would be too big but thankfully I was wrong…

We were going to get dessert but we passed since I had a “weigh in” today...I will be going back again very soon to enjoy more of their sides…

After din din, he had another surprise for me…I am a sucker for Christmas in NYC and yesterday was the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center

DSCN6615DSCN6616

It was WAY too crowded and we had a horrible view of the tree so we decided to leave and went to FAO Schwartz and pretended to be kids again!

AHHHHH I AM PUTTING THIS ON MY CHRISTMAS LIST!!!!!!!

DSCN6626DSCN6622

I enjoyed the Barbie Fashion Show…

Nik was in awe of LEGO Chewbacca

I thought LEGO Santa was cooler!

  10. I love date nights!! Especially when flowers and fried pickles are involved :) I used to waitress at a place that sold friend pickles, and I swear it was the most popular appetizer we had. I thought they were OK, sort of like you said, different than what I had expected.

LEGO santa is awesome! It looks like frosting in the picture :) A giant cake!
