Japan Day; Run For Hope

Hey loves!!!!!! I hope you guys are having a wonderful day!

This Sunday I will be participating in the NYRR’s Japan Day 4 Miler but due to the horrific events that have occurred in Japan, the race has been declared “Run for Hope”.  And the best part is that you don’t have to live in NYC to participate and donate!

Run or Walk Virtually

Register for our Virtual Run or Walk for Hope and pledge to do a 4-mile run or walk between May 1 and May 22, wherever you are. The American Red Cross will receive 100% of the net proceeds of your $40 entry fee, and you'll get one race credit for the ING New York City Marathon 2012 guaranteed-entry program; see our website for complete qualification rules. After you run, submit your time to compare results with other virtual participants.

You can also donate:

Donate Through Crowdrise

NYRR is asking all runners, friends, and family (I am adding bloggers to this list lol) to visit Crowdrise to make a donation to the American Red Cross Japanese Relief efforts. Their suggested donation is at least $20. All net proceeds will help the people of Japan, and NYRR will match the donation, up to $25,000.

My foot is still injured and I have not ran since last week but I am hoping that by Sunday, I will be 100 percent and IF I have to walk it, I will!

  6. This may sound weird and I hope it does not come off wrong, but I am not really donating money now because we are moving there in the summer and I hope instead to be able to donate my time and efforts and physically help out. Our future base is sending volunteers regularly to help with clean up and things, so I hope to be a part of that...and I need to save my money for the actual move (yes, and the two trips I am taking this month, but I swear I am not selfish). Good for you for doing something for such a great cause.
