Japan Run 4 Miler Success!!!!

Do you measure success by scoring a 100 on an exam? Or getting the promotion that you wanted for so long? Or do you measure it on accomplishing something? What about accomplishing something AND having fun at the same time? Because that is exactly what happened this weekend…
Ayer was the NYRR Japan Run and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for a race…the Sky was blue and the sun was shining…
Nik stayed up all night and was so great to come and support me yet again…I really love that he is so supportive of me AND takes fabulous pictures too!
The day before the race, Joanne told me that she running too and we met up right before…
We were all smiles before the race….
At the beginning of the race….
(I told you, he takes great pictures! ha)
I never ran a race with someone (same pace) and honestly, I really enjoyed it! I was not trying to break and records since my foot was still a little messed up and Joanne was also nursing and injury so we helped each other along the way…my only goal was to finish the race and have a good time doing it….
And I did both!!!!!
I completed the race in 43:01….and I am happy with it!
I will leave you with some more pictures that Nik took…

  3. Glad you had such a great time!

  4. Great job on the running and having fun! And great pictures!

  5. Congrats Mari!! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the run, and it was a gorgeous day.
Like you, I don't normally run with others, and it's rare that I find someone good to run with. Nick and I have been running together recently and thankfully he's not so bad to run with!! I was nervous, I won't lie..

  6. Yay! I'm SO glad we did this together! SO MUCH FUN. And we totally rocked it, injuries and all! (Is that last pic the girl he thought looked like you lol?)

  7. Ah congrats!! Sorry I was sleepin when you texted!!! So proud of you!!!! My race went well too :) I'll post about it tomorrow!

  8. Congrats girl! I love how you're able to do some strong running and still have fun. That is indeed the best :)
