Lent Challenge Week 1…

Hello my loves! I hope you guys are having a wonderful week.

How are you guys doing with your Lent challenges? I have been doing great with Yoga but the takeout challenge is a whole other story!

Here is a little fact about me…Mari is an emotional eater. I break up with a guy, I grab ice cream. I am having a good day at work, I celebrate with a slice of pizza. In the beginning of the week, I had a VERY emotional day and all I wanted to do was come home and cry (which I did) and order something to eat (which I didn’t) instead I roasted some chicken and veggies.

The trick to not ordering takeout, is making delicious food at home!

Steak and broccoli with garlic butter and almonds (I used this recipe for the broccoli but made some tweaks)

Chicken and veggies in a Thai curry peanut sauce

More steak but this time with corn and broccoli in a garlic butter sauce

Like I said earlier, the Yoga lent challenge has been fabulous! I have done Yoga 7 days already and even purchased this App to keep me motivated.

Hopefully next week will be just as successful!!!!

Namaste…

  3. Hello Mari,
You posted a comment elsewhere (http://www.preventionrd.com/2011/12/chili-contest-entry-6-vegetarian-black-bean-chili/)in Dec/11, in which you said you were going to try out a chili recipe in your slow cooker.

I just wanted to know if you did give it a try, and if so, how did it turn out? Did you do anything special, or just dump everything into the slow cooker and let it run? Help this not-proud-of-the-fact-that-I-can't-cook Canadian out!
