I want to apologize for not posting last Monday. I decided to take a break due to the horrible incident in Orlando.
This massacre hit me extremely hard, I have a lot of friends and family in the LGBTQ community and a couple who reside in Florida. The minute that I heard what happened, I started to call my family members to make sure they were okay. After a few hours, I was able to get in contact with all of them and thankfully they were safe. At first I felt relief but it was instantly washed away with sadness for all those other family members who wouldn't get to feel the same peace. When I started to see the names of the 49 victims, I felt even more pain (I didn't think that was even possible)...these were my people...Martinez, Fernandez, Flores, Rodriguez....
It's crazy because this time last year, I posted about same sex marriages finally being legalized and here we are, one year later speaking about this.
I will never understand how someone can have so much hate in their heart but maybe that is a good thing. I never want to step inside the mind of a person like that and experience that darkness.
I rather live in the light and overshadow the darkness with my love...
Namaste...
