Mokshapriya decided to give us a cooking class and we learned how to make kitchari and chai tea...I felt like I was back in "home ec" class in junior high school.
Now you may be wondering what does cooking have to do with yoga and it has sooo much to do with it. Food has prana and prana is your life force which is why one of the 8 limbs of yoga, is pranayama (breathing exercises). You intake prana in different ways including oxygen and food.
This was my first time cooking and eating kitchari and I absolutely loved it. Mokshapriya made her dish with basmati rice, mung beans, ghee, and various delicious spices. This is often consumed during a cleanse or right after one.
