My days always begin the same way. The first thing that I do when I wake up is feed Zen because he basically follows me around meowing until I do. I then turn on my keurig and make my coffee while I drink 2 cups of water to re-hydrate my body. Once my coffee is done; I sit down on my couch with my journal and write down my gratitude list as well as my intentions for the day. Once I am done drinking my cafe and writing my lists, I make my way back to my bedroom. No, not to sneak in some more sleep but to meditate for a few minutes.
I then change my clothes and get ready to workout before I meet with clients or students. I know some people might think that they rather get some extra sleep instead of doing all of these things but I believe that how you start your morning, sets the tone for the rest of your day. If you are one to hit snooze until the very last minute and jump of bed in a rush, you are basically playing "catch up" for the entirety of your day.
