On The Mat With Mari: Birthday Celebration & Leg Day!

This weekend was perfection...we celebrated my mom's 62nd birthday and I am only saying her age because she is finally owning up to it (watch the video below to see my shock when she says it out loud).

We went to a Brazilian/Portuguese restaurant and we had a wonderful time...the food was pretty delicious, our waiter was awesome, and the desserts were ahhhhhhhmazing! I would drive back to New Jersey for another slice of their tiramisu cake.

I must have been on a sugar coma on Sunday because I was a lazy sloth and I loved every minute of it. I was planning to head out for "yoga day" at my ashram but when you only have one day off a week, sometimes you just need that day to do absolutely nothing.

After a full day of napping, I finally pulled myself off the couch around 3 pm, to do a leg workout. I completed my last program on Thursday so I made some tweaks to this month. I am still focusing on squats, deadlifts, and hip thrusters on my load days but this month I want to work on my sumo deadlifts as well as tweak my leg positioning while doing hip thrusters.
