After working out the details and finding a time and day that worked for me and the gym, I said yes. Then I found out something that scared the crap out of me, I would be teaching the class in the center of the gym. I just began to feel comfortable teaching my current classes inside the studio so teaching a class out in the open set my anxiety into overdrive.
The reason that the class is in the center of the gym is because I have to teach it in this space which I like to call an "adult jungle gym" (it is actually pretty cool).
My first class was last week...fun fact, when you have OCD and ADD, you tend to over prepare because you are so nervous about things going right. It's funny because as I was worrying about this; my friend Krysann was also posting on social media about being anxious before she teaches her BodyPump class. She loves teaching and gets anxious right before because she also wants everything to go perfectly.
The one thing that we both have in common is that even though we do get anxious and we are scared...we are still DOING it.
It's okay to be afraid of trying something out of your comfort zone (I always am) but you can't let it paralyze you. Am I saying that it's always going to turn out great? Hell NO! It can actually be a cluster fuck but I bet you learned something from the experience...
